Speaker reconing is the process of replacing the damaged moving components of a loudspeaker so that the driver can be returned to working condition. A proper recone job involves much more than simply replacing the cone. The voice coil, spider, surround, dust cap, leads and adhesives must all be correctly selected and accurately assembled.

What Is Speaker Reconing?

Reconing is a loudspeaker repair process in which the damaged moving assembly of a speaker is removed and replaced with new components.

Depending on the design and repair kit, the replacement assembly may include:
